Post News
FROM THE COMMANDER:
The Veteran’s Day Dinner Dance was a great time with good food and a live band for dancing. We also had a great program at the Pennridge Central Middle School. Thank you to all who came out for the November Turkey Shoot which is for the benefit of the post. Please support all post activities including auxiliary breakfasts and evening meals. As a reminder, legion dues are due by December 31. We hope again for a 100% membership for the second year in a row. Post meetings are held on the first and third Friday of the month starting at 7:30 pm. Come out and support us. I also thank the members of our Honor Guard and Firing Squad. Families of the deceased who are mourning the loss of a veteran family member appreciate your assistance. We will be sponsoring the annual Memorial Day parade in 2012 and will need plenty of help to prepare for the event. Remember we all (Legion, Auxiliary, Sons, and Riders) must all work together in order to make this a great Legion Post, a post that we all can be proud of.
Craig A. Wilhelm, Commander Post 255
FROM THE AUXILIARY:
Thanks to everyone for all their help throughout 2011 with the fundraisers and in helping with different functions. Auxiliary meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month. Auxiliary breakfasts will be held February 5th with a raffle on a Valentine’s Basket, March 4th with a Bake Sale, and April 1st with a raffle for an Easter Basket. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt in March. The date will be posted at a later time. Memberships for 2012 are due now. Let’s make this year one of the best by making 100% by the end of January.
Dawn Brown, Unit 255 President
FROM THE SONS:
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped take the flags off the graves after Veterans Day, and to those who helped make the Turkey Shoot a success. We also thank the many people who helped with the annual Christmas Dinners for the needy. SAL meetings are held on the 3rd Friday of each month at 6:00 pm.
Chuck Egner, SAL Commander
FROM THE LEGION RIDERS:
Spring is just around the corner and we will be planning rides together and holding some fundraisers. We were happy to donate the hot dogs for the Children’s Christmas Party and will continue to support other Legion family groups whenever possible. Remember our motto: If everyone does a little, a few don’t have to do a lot. We currently have 27 members and get new ones each month. If you are a legionnaire, son, or auxiliary member, and have a motorcycle 250 cc or above, you are welcome to join. Per state rules, no social members are allowed. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm.
Mark Picton, Legion Rider President
